Early on

I live in  Melbourne Australia with my partner Mike. I set up The Experience Hunter in January 2020 to promote reusable products for travel experiences at home and beyond. Then whiz bang the Covid-19 pandemic hit and suddenly those open borders and open roads were no more. During this time I’ve remembered the simplicity of going for a walk in your local neighbourhood is just as valid an experience as sipping cocktails at a beach bar in Cuba.

I believe travel awakens the senses and can be enjoyed and experienced as easily on your daily commute as when you are wandering the streets of a foreign city or running the Great Wall Marathon. I’ve been passionate about travel for as long as I can remember, and recall family road-trips throughout Ireland and the excitement of our first overseas Spanish adventure in my teens. Experiencing new places is close to my heart – particularly in Ireland, where I was born and raised; the Netherlands where I lived in for a year during university; the USA and Europe for cities, nature and amazing train journeys, and stints living in Belfast and London, before spending 6 years in New Zealand and 7 now in Australia.

The Experience Hunter is where you’ll find travel inspiration and stories, hacks and tips but most importantly beautiful useful travel goods for home or away. I’ll share new trends and create products to inspire you to live and travel in a more earth friendly way.

I’d describe my travel and design style as ‘modern nomad industrial with a hint of nostalgia’ – inspired maybe by the countryside I grew up in, the suburbs I’ve lived in and adventures like lounging by the pool in Zanzibar after a gritty 7 days hiking Kilimanjaro.
